The Large-scale Reference Database of Flanders as open data

  • Time: 16h00-16h30
  • Location: Frederik de Tassis room
  • Level: Beginner
  • Type: Keynote

The Large-scale Reference Database (LRD) is a reference map of Flanders with precise and up-to-date information on buildings, parcels, roads, watercourses and railroads. The LRD is the result of a public-private partnership between the Flemish Government and the utilities sector. At the end of 2015 the LRD became open data.

De Ambrassade and Mediaraven are building a GIS-database of all youth facilities and play areas in Flanders and Brussels. The LRD is used as a basic layer for the data-collection in this project, in order to guarantee the positional accuracy of the database.
